I had to take many deep calming breaths today. As Columbus Day nears, the reality of what is about to happen is becoming clearer and clearer. A move for work should not bring about such feelings you may say. I'd reply back that I had never become as attached to a place as I did to my beloved Chelsea Market. You can shake your head at me, but when all is said and done, it still won't change how I feel.On a somewhat related note, due to my post for today being extremely late and because I may not have a chance to post again until next week (we shall see) I decided to roll today's (throwback thursdays) & tomorrow's (life, lately) post into one. Cool beans?

For the people who I am close to in real life what I am about to say would be the cause of many eye-rolls. Ha. But... It's okay. I don't mind telling the story. Again. ;)

When I first began watching the Food Network, I immediately fell in like with Mario, & Emeril. I fell in love with the cute Rachel Ray and 40 dollars a day (Holla!). But do you know who I fell in LOVE with? Do you? Don't worry, I won't leave you in suspense (as if, right?)...

Tyler Florence.

Oh my goodness gravy! That man... Guh. I know. I know. I am married. But he was my first chef crush! I mean!

So, anyways... I ended up googling him way back when and found out about his restaurant, Cafeteria, in NYC. I told all my friends and family that we had to eat there. We just had to.

Fast forward 2 (or was it 4?) years later & we ended up eating there for my 24th birthday. (pictures 1a and 1b). I don't think I've eaten there more than once or twice (more) in the past 8 years until today. (picture 2)

You see, I had been raving about the food there to my husband for quite some time but he's never actually been. So when I asked him to come pick me up today so I can lug all of my crap from work home, he specifically requested that we eat at Cafeteria for dinner. It was really such a lovely experience. And the food? Well, it did not disappoint! The food was just simply delicious! The bread (picture 5) was a little dry but paired with that butter (it had a kick of something sweet when tasted - it was so superb)? Yum! The service was great too and I just have to rave about the fried chicken salad. It was amazeballs. I'm not even joking you guys. That ish was bananas. So yum!

I highly highly recommend this restaurant. Best part? It's 24 hours! And no, I'm not getting paid to write this. I just really really like the owner... ahem - I mean, the food. Hehe.

ps. I just want to point out that I think I read somewhere that Tyler Florence is 1 of the 3 owners of Cafeteria. I am not claiming it as a fact though, so please be guided accordingly.

pps. To my husband: you know I love you, right? Mwahz... :*

ppps. Happy weekend!
